Sculpture at Monument Ave and Main Street Hamilton Ohio

Located at the historic downtown intersection centered around the iconic Soldiers, Sailors & Pioneers Monument. This intersection sits right in front of the Wall House Hotel and the Fitton Center for Creative Arts.
Someone asked me:
Is there anything else you can tell us about this stone droplet? Super cool project and I’d love to know more.
Like: does it have a name? Inspirations? Etc etc
My reply follows: This was recently completed in Hamilton Ohio. Made mostly from Pennsylvania Bluestone, with some limestone gathered from the river nearby. Some granite, slat and quartz too.
I call this piece Lithadelic Water Drop
I make stone flow like water, in many sculptural Cairn forms like this. Also with walls, walkways and patios. Nature has consciousness and I like to explore trying to get 1 element to move like another, because I see this in nature all the time, how different systems seem to move according to the same patterns and geometry.
At first they asked me for a sphere. But when someone from City of Sculpture, who commissioned this piece, suggested a water drop–I knew it was the right idea.
Another theme is language in nature….like the seemingly cryptic writing patterns on tree bark, we have the morse-like dots and dashes shown here.

I love what I do and with your help I will continue trying to out do myself.
I was interviewed by TV Hamilton

I’ll put up a “the making of” video and blog post within the next week or so. Be there!
Thank you
