This work is all about finding the right stones, and fitting them together well. I scan a pile of stone, seeing possibilities. Each stone is unique–so they may be fit together, in different configurations and/or carved in different ways.

Spring style birdbath. When a repeat customer of mine–the person who commissioned the first benches I ever built–asked me for a boulder bird bath, my response was, well I want to do something I’ve never seen before. So I came up with this. Years later I actually began making boulder bird baths, realizing that with these too, I could always do something different.

Classic boulder bird bath, medium 18″ with moss and lichen. This lichen and moss covered birdbath is made from pocono pink sandstone, with little rounded quartz pebble inclusions throughout. What’s better still? Birds love it 🙂
