3-Legged Memorial Boulder Bench Delivered to Virginia
Here’s a unique memorial, a 3 legged boulder bench that I delivered this week, to the beautiful hills of Central/Southern Virginia.
A permanent and timeless addition to the landscape. A 3 legged Boulder Bench with a view.
I built this bench from 3 boulders, with the central boulder having 2 notches, and the outer two boulders being flat-topped. Boulders quarried in Scranton PA, seating platforms made from 3″ to 3.5″ thick slabs of Pennsylvania Bluestone.
The bronze plaque on this memorial bench reads:
“Life is meant to be shared.”
Fitting words for a 12-foot-long stone bench overlooking a fire gathering space in the hills of Virginia.
Custom Stone Bench Delivered to Collegeville PA
This stone bench was delivered a bit closer to home: to Collegeville PA. Mad from glacial boulders collected “in the wild”–from the backyard of a private residence in the Poconos, with the property owners permission. I’m forever on the lookout for unique stone with which to crate my enduring works.
No cookie cutters, no templates are ever used in my works. On the contrary: I gaze upon stones, until I see how they may best be used, to create enduring works of functional art.

Happily I remember the first, and second stone benches I ever made. My customer asked me for 3 benches. Rather than do something conventional–therefor I came up with the notched boulder concept. And then I decided to double up one of those benches, coming up with a 3 legged boulder bench. This one with all notched boulders. I made these in the summer of 2012, on the same site where I built Lithadelic Sphere the Second, a year later.
