Design & Scope
This project involved building a complete outdoor environment around a yoga studio, integrating multiple stone elements into a cohesive layout.
Flagstone Walkway Construction near Stroudsburg

The joints in the flagstone work surrounding this shower mosaic are wider than the rest of the walkway,m to facilitate better drainage. There’s also a hidden drain, between where there dry set walkway meets up with the mortared patio around the sauna. It’s rare that I ever need a hidden drain, as I handle surface water with thoughtful grading, wherever possible. But the walkway was naturally pointed downhill, running to that mortared patio, and with the extra water from the shower right there–a hidden drain was thought to be wise. 3 years later–and there’s been no surface water issues, so all is well in Hooville.

Irregular flagstone patio around a sauna. The half of the patio that is on top of the pre-existing concrete pad is mortared. The other half is a dry set raised patio, supported by this small retaining wall that we built to solve a grading issue.
